The Runner’s Store is a supplier of running gear and paraphernalia and was established to cater to the growing Black running market in Pretoria.
THE CHALLENGE
Redo the existing The Runner’s Store brand in order to help them compete with several existing and well-established suppliers of running gear in the Pretoria area, specifically the CBD where there is a growing street running culture amongst working professionals.
THE JOURNEY
We researched the local competitor landscape to better understand it but ultimately looked to our research of international sports brands to inform our brand development strategy. We were creating a brand that could open up shop in London if it had the opportunity to, but that also had to have local relevance.
THE SOLUTION
Position The Runner’s Store as a trusted, one-stop store for all running gear needs though it’s brand. The brand we developed gave The Runner’s Store an immediate ‘big brand’ believability and injected an energy of excitement into the brand.
