Where good ideas come from

In this TED talk, Steven Johnson answers this question for us, helping us be comfortable with the notion that it is better to share an idea than keep it protected – if you want it to become a useful and good one. The breakthrough conclusion of 5 years of research is that a new idea isn’t just a random ‘flash of genius’, but that a new idea is actually a new network of neurons created in your brain firing in sync with each other. His ultimate question then is what kind of environments can help stimulate the creation of new ideas?
